Former Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant believes his old club’s interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could be a sign that Ibrahima Konaté will leave the club.
The 26-year-old formed a strong partnership with Virgil van Dijk as the Red Devils won the Premier League title last season, but with his contract running until 2026, เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูงthere are concerns he could leave on a free transfer like Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Pennant believes the Reds’ interest in signing Guehi suggests Konaté could leave the club as early as this summer or wait until his contract expires next summer.
“If Liverpool want Marc Guehi then there’s a greater chance that Konaté will leave,” Pennant told talkSPORT. “I think it could be a similar situation to Real Madrid with Trent Alexander-Arnold where Liverpool will say to Guehi, ‘Just wait until your contract runs out and we’ll look after you’.”
“Because Konaté is in the same situation, he is in the last year of his contract and has not done any deals, so Liverpool could say to him, ‘Listen, Konaté will leave at the end of the season, Marc Guehi, you will come to us on a free transfer and we will offer you this’.”
“I think it might happen.”
